He constructed a building at what is today Universidad and Ruiz
Cortinez to continue his dream: having a single line of products.
At this time, he owned a pair of scissors and a press break with
which he could manufacture shapes for doors and windows. He named
the new company Productos Laminados de Monterrey, S. A.,
or PROLAMSA.
A
great demand for hen cages, however, forced him to produce these
articles. The region's bird-raising boom required the production
of 50 cages daily, all pre-sold; however, plagues that affected
this specialized industry forced him to return to his original idea.
Currently,
PROLAMSA owns its own specially designed manufacturing plants.
Its products satisfy a substantial part of Mexico's demand and also
are distributed throughout North America.
