History
Since 1954...
Prolamsa was founded in 1954 by Juan Montemayor Martìnez, an entrepreneur who had been producing and fabricating products made of steel for nearly 30 years, and his son, Mario. Initially the company produced metal shapes for doors and windows, but soon began to fabricate other products, including large quantities of hen cages, to meet the growing demands in the region. The products were made by highly-skilled workers, using basic, hand-operated equipment.
By 1961, the demand for Prolamsa's primary products had declined, forcing the company to explore new products and markets. One of these, the production of steel tubular shapes, grew to become the basis of the company we know today.
